The curriculum at Crescendo Dance Academy is designed to work together, building skills and strength through focused classes.
Bring your favorite stories to life! Obstacle courses, crafts, parachute and more. Storybook classes are play-based dance instruction, perfect for movers who are new to or still adapting to a class setting. For kids 2-5. Acro, ballet and jazz concepts introduced.
Build strength and learn ballet vocab with your stuffy best friends! Focus is on building muscles to support barre, center and across the floor work. Geared towards students who are ready for a more technical based class with a bit of whimsy.
Jungle jazz uses animal games and props to build strength and rhythm foundations for rolls, turns and leaps. Geared towards students who are ready for a more technical class with a bit of adventure.
Ages 4-8: We utilize the Acro Dance Teachers Association curriculum for our acro program. This class builds the skills needed to enter into the junior acro class. Skills taught include: forward rolls, bridges, handstands, cartwheels. Lots of games and obstacle courses included!
The pace of class for each level allows the time to dive deep into alignment and proper movement.
Each level builds upon the muscle control and precision developed in the previous level. As such, dancers must test into the next level. But don’t worry; there will be multiple chances to test up throughout the year!
Our ballet program combines the Cecchetti method—focusing on anatomy and muscle development—and the Vaganova method—focusing on making the move fit your body, not the other way around.
We combine the study of anatomy, kinesiology, yoga and Pilates to help students reach their goals in a safe way. We discuss how to work with the individual muscles not against them to achieve results.
Dance Acro seamlessly integrates classic dance techniques with acrobatic skills like cartwheels, headstands, handstands, and walkovers. All of the Acro teachers are members of the Acro Dance Teachers Association and use time-tested ADTA syllabi.
The turns and leaps class focuses on establishing skills safely. It builds off of the alignment and core development from ballet and adds the strength needed to execute leaps and turns. As many dance injuries occur due to improper landings or takeoffs, emphasis is put on correct formation when leaving the ground and returning to it.

In Lyrical/Jazz, focus is on building
fluidity between movements, as well as
using dance technique to tell a story
and portray emotion. The 2 pillars of lyrical/jazz are extension work and floor work.
