Questions

We have spots available for dancers ages 4-18 who are ready to commit to reach for excellence.

This includes maintaining a minimum amount of classes per week as well as the other requirements outlined in the Company Handbook.

Please contact the office for a sample Company Handbook (final handbooks will be sent out upon offer into the company).
Stage experience is

recommended. But most importantly, we’re looking for individuals with a passion for dance!

An audition is required to get placed onto the company:

Option 1) Take a free dance class on May 31st, and indicate on the form that you are requesting that be used as the audition.

You can access the signup form here.

2.) Submit a video audition.

For dancers 4-6 years old, the video must include the dancer doing 4 plies in first, 4 forward battements (kicks with straight knees and pointed toes) and a 30 second dance segment.

For dancers over age 6, the video must include:

  1. Forward battements and chaines across the floor,
  2. A pirouette (or an unassisted passe hold for 10 seconds)
  3. A 1 min dance segment (either choreogrpahed or improvised.)

To submit a video audition, click here.

3.) Attend the live audition on August 16th.

Location and time are TBD. Sign up here.

Class requirements depend on the Company Level. CDA attempts to schedule classes so that dancers are able to dance 2-3 hours a day. With that in mind, even if a dancer is required to dance for 5 or 6 hrs a week, it is possible that only 2 days a week are required. Also, the hours available to train will be taken into account when deciding company levels. Please indicate on the audition form how many days and hours the dancer is able to train each week.
